More Rhine is not possible

The Rheingau is situated exactly at the beautiful spot where the Rhine steps out of line. Instead of flowing consistently further north, it changes its direction for 35 kilometres to the west, providing the southern slopes of the Taunus with ideal climatic conditions. Castles, palaces, original wine villages and a unique wine culture that has grown over the centuries can be found here in a very small area. Just look at the cultural landscape from the water or from the air.

Cable car to the Niederwald
monument

One of the highlights of a stay in Rüdesheim am Rhein is a trip with the cable car to the Niederwald monument. The wonderful panoramic view of the old town of Rüdesheim and the silver shining Rhine with its green islands makes the calm floating over the vineyards according to the motto: "Hovering over the vines" a special experience The valley station is located in the pedestrian zone Oberstraße in Rüdesheim.

Chairlift Assmannshausen

A trip with the chair lift into the green forests of the Niederwald to the hunting lodge Niederwald with its game park and magnificent panoramic view of the Rhine valley and the picturesque red wine town of Assmannshausen is also recommended.
