The Rheingau

The Rheingau wine-growing region, on the edge of the Rhine-Main area, in the immediate vicinity of Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Bingen and the traffic hubs of Frankfurt am Main Airport and Hahn Airport.

With a vineyard area of 3,000 hectares, the Rheingau is one of the most important wine-growing regions in Germany. Therefore, viticulture has a very significant influence on the culture of this region. Wine festivals, castles, palaces, monasteries, the numerous hiking trails and the Rhine make the Rheingau an interesting place to visit.
